What is Ubuntu? 
Ubuntu representatives were elected on Earth until they achieved global political domination. But the Ubuntu Council of Elders, which advises the party as a whole, is non-elected. This Council sets long-term strategic imperatives for the United Earth Federation and the human race. When the Ubuntu Party came to power on Mars and Jupiter, it moved to unite the colonies into a loose federation, what we know today as the United Earth Federation. The colonies maintain independent militaries under a loose unified command structure, but share economic output. This Federation is an illegal violation of the Titan Accords, which explicitly designates the Galactic Terran Alliance as the governing body of Sol, and disbands all prior nation-states, including the Jovian Rim Federation and the Martian Concordia.
